First off I would like to thank my good friend, Drew Miller, a University of Nebraska student and refugee case manager at Catholic Social Services.  Drew opened my eyes to thousands of refugees in Lincoln a few years ago and helped me plunge into their community and lives.  Without Drew, this project would never have even been a thought in my mind. 

 

I am also incredibly thankful for the many families in Lincoln who allowed me into their homes, served me tea and delicious delicacies and shared their stories with me.  You all inspire me to be grateful for what I have been given, but also to fight for those who don’t have luxuries or the rights I have been born into.  Thank you for your courage, your bravery and your honesty.
